CONFIDENTIALITY

You are entitled to completely confidential help and advice from all members of staff including Receptionists, Doctors and Nurses.

All our staff have contractually agreed to this which means that even if you are under 16 – but as long as you are a teenager – you have the same rights to confidentially as an adult.

So you can be sure nothing will be said to anyone – including parents, other family members, care workers – without your permission.

The only reason why we might have to consider passing on confidential information without your permission would be to protect you or someone else from very serious harm.  Even so we would always try to discuss this and receive your permission beforehand.

You can arrange to see a Doctor or Nurse or speak to them by telephone.  You do not need to tell the reception staff what your problem is – and they will not ask you.

CONTRACEPTION & SEXUAL HEALTH

The Surgery has two specially trained Nurses who hold dedicated clinics twice a week at convenient times.

These clinics are open to anyone – not just those registered at our practice.  You do not even have to give your name or address.  The clinics provide comprehensive services on all aspect of contraception and sexual health, including STD’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases.)

Contraception is free to all men and women of all ages.

There are many different methods of contraception and different methods will suit different people at different times of their lives.
